Marcie Connolly



Ms. Connolly directs national retail leasing for Jamestown Realty. With three decades of experience in urban retail leasing, Ms. Connolly has overseen more than 9 million square feet of retail space while serving in senior positions for Western Development and The Mills Corporation, where she was Senior Vice President of Retail Leasing. Most recently, Ms. Connolly led the leasing department at Eastbanc, Inc., a boutique development company based in Georgetown, Washington, DC. Ms. Connolly was responsible for Georgetown’s designer renaissance from 2004 through 2012. Her multitude of leases included Ralph Lauren, Rag & Bone, Cusp, Lacoste, Madewell, CB2, Design Within Reach and Brooks Brothers. In 2008, Ms. Connolly was awarded Best Deal of the Year by the DC Building Industry Association for the North Face on M Street in Georgetown. She is a board member of the Georgetown Business Association and remains active as a member of the gala committee for the Citizens Association of Georgetown. Ms. Connolly attended Radford College in Virginia.

Peter Melmed



Peter Melmed is Vice President, Construction and Development. With more than 24 years experience in retail real estate, Peter oversees large scale development and construction throughout the EDENS portfolio. Based in Bethesda, Melmed was previously a real estate consultant at PJM Realty where he provided land acquisition, planning, entitlement, development, and construction management services for such clients as Faison, Giant Food Inc., Lincoln Property and Urban Atlantic. He received his MBA in Real Estate Finance from the University of Denver and a Bachelor of Science degree in Civil Engineering from the University of Vermont.

Larry Demaree SCSM and his partner Deborah Edwards have over 70 years of combined experience in the real estate business, with 65 of those years in the Washington, DC metropolitan area. Both are Washington, DC natives. Michael Zacharia


Michael Zacharia specializes in Retail Services in the Washington, DC Metro Region with over 18 years of professional experience.  By combining thorough market insight with creative solutions, he offers unsurpassed knowledge of the Washington Metro Region's retail real estate environment.
As Senior Vice President with CBRE, Michael Zacharia's responsibilities include retail landlord representation for shopping centers, urban retail, and ground-up development leasing throughout Washington, DC, Maryland and Virginia.  He also coordinates tenant representation services including new site acquisition for several national, regional, and local retail tenants.  Mr. Zacharia provides retail site disposition services and lease management services for both landlords and tenants throughout the Metropolitan Washington, DC area.  The scope of these services includes the negotiation of new leases, lease terminations, renewals and extensions for existing tenants, retail consulting services and market analysis.  He has completed over 1,000 lease and sales transactions totaling more than $750 million and has leased and sold over 5 million square feet of retail properties.  He joined CBRE as a result of the July 2003 merger with Insignia/ESG, where he began working in 1995.

Grant Ehat, JBG Rosenfeld Retail


Grant Ehat has co-directed the acquisition of retail assets, assisted in the oversight of development efforts, and influenced all new business development activities at JBGR since 2003. Earlier, he was responsible for management of all leasing activities for the company and, to this day, continues to be involved with anchor leasing transactions for JBGR-owned and managed properties. His development history includes more than one million square feet of ground-up retail development and over 1,000 residential units at some of the Washington area’s most notable projects such as North Bethesda Market and Market Square at Frederick in Maryland; 77 H Street in Washington, DC; and Woodland Park Crossing, Kings Crossing, and 1700 Duke Street in Virginia.

A 25+-year veteran of the commercial real estate industry, Ehat previously served as a leasing representative at Glenn & Company, and land sales specialist at Commercial Property Associates, both based in northern Virginia. He holds a B.B.A. from James Madison University, and is a licensed real estate broker in Virginia, Maryland and Washington, D.C. Ehat is an active member of ICSC, and sits on the advisory boards of Washington First Bank and the Arlington Free Clinic.

Robin McBride


Robin McBride is the Vice President - Mid Atlantic Region Chief Operating Officer, Federal Realty Investment Trust Robin McBride is Vice President - Mid Atlantic Region Chief Operating Officer for Federal Realty Investment Trust. In this capacity, Ms. McBride directs the strategy and day-to-day activities for the Trust's Mid Atlantic Region which includes properties located in the DC Metro Area--Maryland, DC and Virginia; Charlottesville and Richmond, Virginia, Chapel Hill, North Carolina and the Florida region, totaling more than 7.0 million square feet. Ms. McBride joined the Trust in 2004 and has managed the development financial analysis department as well as asset managed the Trust's most complicated mixed-use development projects. Ms. McBride has over 14 years of experience in real estate, retail asset management and accounting from prior positions with Ernst & Young, Lend Lease Real Estate Investments and KeyBank Real Estate Capital. She is also a certified public accountant and holds both a MBA from Georgia State University and a bachelor's degree in accounting from Florida A&M University.

Geoffrey Mackler


Geoffrey Mackler is a Principal of H & R Retail. Mackler manages tenant representation for big box retailers and small specialty retailers. His specialties include: Landlord Representation, New Development and Value Add Redevelopment. Prior to working with H & R Retail, Geoffrey headed a promotions team for Mercury Records, representing several well-known celebrities. Additionally, he held positions with the United States Senator Barbara Mikulski and State Senator George Kirkpatrick. Mackler was named as agent in largest retail deal of the year by Washington Business Journal, 2000. He led the team who facilitated the market entry for H&M. He was the exclusive broker assisting LA Fitness with its market entry. He developed and implemented a nationwide strategy for off site warehouses on behalf of Target Corporation (over 30 transactions). Mackler assisted with the redevelopment of Laurel Lakes Centre including over 100,000 square feet of new leasing. Mackler oversaw the leasing and redevelopment of Yorkridge Shopping Center (over 130,000 square feet). Mackler was the youngest person to become partner in the history of H & R Retail at age 27. Mackler earned his J.D. from the University of Baltimore Law School and B.A. (Cum Laude) from the University of Florida.
